Son of Rambow

I missed this funny and delightful film in the theaters but just caught it Friday night from a Netflix rental. I gave it a rare 5 star rating. If you have children, watch it with them. It's a lovely film.

Google Chrome: Removing Predictive URLs (The Real Solution)

I see this question posted to a lot of Google Groups. Since I have not figured out how to answer a question on a group page (maybe I have to be a Google employee, who knows? No really, who knows?), I thought I would post the answer here. Problem When typing in the URL bar in Google Chrome, Chrome offers all sorts of suggestions. You want to prevent this from happening or at least remove some of the suggestions. Solution In Chrome, press Ctrl+H .to display your browsing history. Delete the items you want or delete all of them. On the Chrome Settings page, click Show advanced settings (at the bottom of the page). Uncheck Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar if it is checked. Delete any bookmarks that you do not want to appear. Mr. Obama: About That Health Care Promise

Now that I have joined the millions of other unemployed Americans, I wonder if I will be able to keep my health insurance. My COBRA premium (including dental and vision) is over $420 a month. It will take about two weeks of unemployment benefits (after taxes) to pay that premium. That will not leave me anywhere near enough to pay my mortgage, let alone pay utility bills and eat. I do have a roommate who does pay his rent on time, so thank the heavens for that. But, it is still going to be an uphill struggle. It was timely that Paul Krugman, in a NY Times Op-Ed , asked the question yesterday: Why has the Obama administration been silent, at least so far, about one of President Obama’s key promises during last year’s campaign — the promise of guaranteed health care for all Americans? ... Crestor: A Life Saver?

My MD put me on 20 mg Crestor over a year ago. My cholesterol at the time was about 220 with a bad ratio of bad and good cholesterol. Within nine months, my cholesterol was down to 100 with a much improved ratio. He now has me split the pills and take only 10 mg a day. I'm a believer. People with low cholesterol and no big risk for heart disease dramatically lowered their chances of dying or having a heart attack if they took the cholesterol pill Crestor, a large study found. The results, reported Sunday at an American Heart Association conference, were hailed as a watershed event in heart disease prevention.
